Associate Planning Consultant
Part-Time - Approx. 20 Hours per Week | Flexible Working
We are seeking an experienced Associate Planning Consultant to join our growing planning team in Derby on a part-time basis, working approximately 20 hours per week with flexible working arrangements. This senior role is suited to a commercially aware planner who enjoys working closely with clients and project teams to shape high-quality rural and residential development.
The role involves leading and managing planning projects from initial site appraisal through to determination and, where required, appeal. Our work includes bespoke residential development, barn conversions, and small-scale housing schemes across Derbyshire and the wider region, offering variety and the opportunity to take ownership of projects.
As an Associate, you will provide strategic planning advice, prepare and manage planning applications and supporting documentation, liaise with local planning authorities and statutory consultees, and support junior members of the planning team. You will also contribute to client relationships and the ongoing growth of the practice.
The successful candidate will be degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline and will be a Chartered Member of the RTPI, or working towards Chartered status. A strong understanding of the UK planning system and relevant national and local planning policy is essential, along with proven experience in rural and residential planning projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, together with the ability to manage workloads effectively within a flexible, part-time role.
CIAT-Accredited Architectural Technician
Part-Time | Approx. 20 Hours per Week | Flexible Working
We are seeking a CIAT-accredited Architectural Technician to join our growing team in Derby on a part-time basis, working approximately 20 hours per week with flexible working arrangements. The role involves supporting a varied portfolio of rural and residential development projects, where you will play a key role in translating design proposals into robust, buildable technical solutions.
Our projects range from bespoke dwellings and barn conversions to small-scale residential developments, offering variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to contribute to high-quality rural architecture across Derbyshire and the wider region.
You will work closely with our architects, planners, and external consultants to prepare detailed technical drawings, construction details, and specifications that support projects from design through to delivery. A strong working knowledge of UK Building Regulations is essential, together with a methodical approach to technical detailing and coordination.
Applicants should be accredited with the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) or working towards accreditation. A full UK driving licence is required to facilitate site visits when necessary.
